Although we live in a small, fairly isolated area, it doesn’t make the people here any less generous or aware of community members or others who are in need. I’ve had the opportunity to help several organizations raise funds for a variety of worthy causes.
Team Martini is made up of a group of local young women who participated in the Great Strides Walk to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis. The graphic on the left was for the T-Shirts that they were on the day of the walk and during several of their fund raisers.
Funds were raised through a bake sale, ‘Locals Basket,’ chicken salad sale and private donations. The money raised went directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association to help fund a double lung transplant for Martha Winston (who is also the name sake of Team Martini.) Follow the links to find out more about both organizations and details on the money raised by our local team, and ways that you can help as well.
During the coming months I’ll be sharing more about local fund raisers. I love finding and sharing unique ways that people not only raise funds but help raise awareness for worthy causes.
