Why yes, I am doing things a little backwards, but I’ve never been accused of doing things the “normal” way. What fun would that be. Our Bout-of-Books 22 Grand Prize winner was Rachel at Rachel is Writing! She decided that she wanted bookmarks and the image for them is below!
Be sure to stop by one of her favorite hangouts and offer her congratulations. You can find her on her blog (linked above) or at

The next Bout-of-Books is January 7-13. You can find out more about the read-a-thon on the Bout-of-Books blog. 😉
Whoops! I almost forgot! I’ve got a Grand Prize Winner that has artwork that needs to be shown off! (Actually I have two, but we’ll discuss that later 😉 )
Emma at Emma Reads Things was our Bout-of-Books 23 Grand Prize Winner and she decided that she wanted to dress up her blog and her Twitter profile page @emmareadsthings
Be sure to stop by one of her hangouts and offer her congratulations. Stay tuned for news on our Bout-of-Books 22 Grand Prize Winner– coming soon!
So yeah, I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been busy? Not a great excuse, but it’s the only one I have for right now. I’m sure it comes as no surprise to anyone that’s visited self promotion isn’t my strong point. Every once in a while though I get to help create something that I just can’t help but share.
Early this year I received a request to bid on a job. Honestly, I was more than just a little excited to even be considered for the project. After I sent in my bid information and some time passed, I assumed that I didn’t win the bid. I was fine with that, really. Given the project, I knew that I was competing with some pretty impressive design services and really, just being asked was enough. Then, I got the call. Then I got nervous. Extremely excited, but still nervous. What followed was an amazing experience and one I’m quite proud of. I know that there is going to be an online version, but today I received copies of the new Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel brochures and I couldn’t wait to share.
I’ve been busy with quite a few other projects during the past few months that I’ll hopefully be sharing soon.
It’s been about a month since Bout of Books 19 ended, so why am I still creating posts about the read-a-thon? The answer’s simple. I have a great time during Bout of Books, but my real fun starts after it’s over. That’s when I get to help the Grand Prize winner create a new look for their blog, social media or grab some bookmarks or business cards. The Grand Prize winner for Bout of Books 19 was
Since Rachelle decided she wanted bookmarks and she ended up liking the design we came up with so much, it turned into a whole makeover for her blog, twitter and Facebook! I love it when that happens 😉
Here’s a sneak peek at her brand new bookmarks:
So, what do you think? If you get a chance, stop by some of the places that Rachelle J. hangs out and check out her new look and offer her your congrats.

Bout-of-Books 13 may have ended on May 17, but that isn’t the end of the fun for me. Once the Grand Prize winner is announced I get to play. This time around I got to help Emma from Words And Peace create some graphics to dress up her site and her Twitter page.
Emma organizes virtual book tours at France Book Tours. All genres represented, but all books have a connection with France
Emma has been book blogging at Words And Peace for almost 5 years. She reads all kinds of genres, but tends to prefer historical fiction as well as books in translation, especially from the French or the Japanese.
She is also an English-French literary translator, a French online tutor, and an artist, painting exclusively on rocks
Words And Peace is on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Goodreads, and Pinterest.
It was a pleasure working with Emma and help her dress up her sites. Be sure to stop by and say Hi! when you get a chance.
